Nice Little Things wins Logistic Champion Award at the BeCom Awards

Last Thursday, during a festive evening with the presentation of the Belgian E-Commerce Awards, we suddenly heard our name “Nice Little Things” announced as the winner of the “Logistic Champion Award” and were called up to the stage.

The two Belgian industry associations that champion the interests of Belgian e-commerce, BeCommerce and SafeShops.be, have merged and will continue under the name Becom. On 26 October, this new organisation presented the Belgian E-Commerce Awards. Big names such as A.S. Adventure and Smartphoto took home prizes. But in the category “Logistic Champion Award – Small webshop”, the award surprisingly went to Nice Little Things.

“It is a great honour to share the stage with major players such as Medpets, A.S. Adventure, Farmaline, Smartphoto and many others.”

We hadn't expected this at all. After all, we are just a small webshop with a workshop in Geetbets. We mainly took part for the experience. We already considered it a great honour to be seated at the same table as the people from Amazon that evening.

But then we suddenly heard our name “Nice Little Things” announced as the winner of the “Logistic Champion Award” and were called up to the stage. A complete surprise for us. It was already impressive that we had been nominated, let alone that we would take home a prize ourselves. What a reward for our dedication, teamwork and commitment to making our customers happy. And it confirms that we are doing the right things to keep growing.

Around 10,000 consumers choose the winners

You don't win this award just like that: the winners are chosen based on customer surveys. More than 9,700 consumers were surveyed, and in the “Small Webshop” category Nice Little Things came out on top for logistics. The decisive criteria for this award included low to no delivery costs, reliability and speed of delivery, and free insurance for damaged or lost goods.

“We attach great importance to our ecological footprint, choose our packaging materials carefully, and offer very fast delivery for handmade and personalised gifts and party items: ordered before 6 pm, shipped the very next day. On top of that, every customer receives a lovely handwritten card with their parcel.”

Started with one 3D printer and a Christmas bauble

Nice Little Things is a small Belgian webshop with a big heart. Our mission is to celebrate special moments and memories through unique and meaningful personalised gifts and party items. We work very hard every day to make our customers happy.

The idea for our shop was born in 2019, when Alwin made a Christmas bauble with a name on it using a 3D printer. That printer started out as a gadget for him, but when the result of the Christmas bauble was shared on Facebook, the orders came pouring in: within a month we received requests for more than 100 pieces.

That's how things got rolling, and in early 2021 we invested in a workshop and machines. Today we sell more than 350 unique, personalised products.

We have since taken part in Open Bedrijvendag (open company day), obtained the “Handmade in Belgium” label, and are recognised as a webshop by Safeshops. And now we can add this wonderful prize to the list.
